Politz`s Restaurant in tdibodaux

Probably the best restaurant in Thibodaux. The stuffed flounder supreme was excellent, more than you can eat. You can get a to go box but it's just doesn't taste the same the next day. Parking is a little tight...parking lot, side street wherever you can find...may luck out with some one just leaving. It's usually packed but seating is fast.

We had steak, and seafood platter, gumbo, corn and sweet potatoes for the sides. We came around 6pm, and it took over an hour to get our food, the longest wait I ever had in a restaurant. The food was good, the service was good. I just wish it didn't take that long to eat. And maybe next time I'll just order to go.

Here’s the situation, the true rating is 0 from my personal experience. I attended this restaurant for a luncheon with my colleagues and everything was completely horrid. Firstly, the parking lot was congested because of limited spacing. Secondly, it took nearly an hour for our food to get finished. I order a cheeseburger poboy yet it was served as a hamburger poboy because somehow they forgot to put cheese on a CHEESE on a CHEESEburger poboy. Honestly, I dont know that can happen but it happened. Thirdly, my food was cold when served to me, which is ok I guess because I had to send it back for the cheese to meet on my cheeseburger poboy. Fourthly, I truly believe I was charged for water when I should not have been charged for water. I’m utterly disappointed and disgusted. I will not be returning to this establishment.

Ate with family last nite...no complaints from anyone!Fried oysters & catfish were the best I've had anywhere in years.Prices were reasonable especially for the amount you serve & quality of the food.Will def be back!!

Have been living in this area for 15 years and this is our 1st time eating at this restaurant. We were very pleased with our meal & the service. Decided to stick to Italian tonight. I had the Chicken Parm & hubby had the Lasagna. He was very impressed with his meal. It was meaty & cheesy deliciousness!!! The red gravy had a nice homemade taste on the sweet side. Same sauce on my Chicken park. Large servings & yes, we had go boxes. We had very nice side salads to begin our meal. Fresh & cold...Next time we will try their seafood. Will definitely return.Check days & times...not open every day...

Food was horrible. It took over an hour to get our food and then my fettuccini Alfredo was yellow. It tasted like watered down Mac and cheese with parsley. I will not be back.

Waited over an hour for food and when they finally did serve us they waited to serve all of one side of the restaurant at one time my son ordered etouffee and they forgot to put the rice ,be long time before we go back there again.

This is our go to family outing restaurant. Politz has never let us down. The seafood gumbo is always delicious.

Politz's is Fantastic Eating here is always a treat whenever my family comes back to Thibodaux, LA to visit. I had the fried crawfish and I can say no one does it better. The Seafood Gumbo was amazing and my father enjoyed the fried oysters. For dessert the white chocolate bread pudding is to die for.

Great food. Very helpful and accommodating staff. Just make sure you show up before dinner rush or else you'll have tough luck finding parking.

Staff was super nice, food was quite good, but we didn't get service due to a wedding party that was there. We were there for welllll over an hour before we received our food. Gah.

Great food and great owners

Great seafood and a huge selection. This place has been open forever. The inside is reminiscent of a funeral home. It is a favorite of the locals. The hours the restaurant is open is weird, so make sure it's open when you plan on going. If it's at a peak time, plan on waiting with lots of others before you get a table.

Family owned and operated with great friendly service. Menu has plenty of options for the entire family including fried and broiled options. Will be going back again!

The best cajun food

A family favorite. It’s like going to your family house and the servers treat you that way. The food is really good. We like the hamburger steak and crawfish pasta. The salads are yummy too.

The staff was super friendly and the food was very good. The portions were very generous. I am from out of town and was looking for a place to eat. The parking lot was full, so I knew it had to be a good place to pick. There is a very nice neighborhood vibe here. Everyone seemed to know everyone. I'd recommend.

Wonderful food, especially Italian and seafood dishes! However, their fresh handmade hamburgers are the best always, never frozen patties! They have a great Italian salad, with vinegar, oil, parmesan cheese and anchovies! A full bar (very good rye old fashions), cocktails, nice wine list and of course beer! Prices are low to moderate. Sadly, they are only open for dinner on Thursday, and lunch and dinner on Friday, then only dinner on Saturday evening! Great service, and family owned and operated for 25 yrs.?

Quiet place with good food. The spacious setting makes it feel very comfortable.

Please understand as I write this review I’m enjoying my fabulous meal. This was my first time ordering (doordash delivered). I got the loaded baked potato, hamburger steak with gravy/onions, and chickens&sausage gumbo. Everything is beyond delicious I plan to order other things from menu but wow I’m super impressed considering it’s my 1st time ordering
